It is associated to your name, so sometimes it might be referred to as personalized navegante card. Regarding the photo on the application form, sometimes metro stations have machines, or stores, where you can take a photo that is adequate to the format.
The under 23 pass is for all individuals up to the age of 23 and allows free travel throughout the Lisbon metropolitan area. The majority of the students in Actuarial Science are older, but some people might be able to claim it.
The documents required are:
"•Personalised navegante® card;
•Identification document;
•Tax identification number (confirmed by presenting the identification document or another document proving the Portuguese TIN)
•Contact details (address, email and mobile phone number).”
If you are taking care of the under 23 pass while getting the navegante card, assure you have all documents required by each process, and fill the option “sub23” on the “Discounts and Special Conditions” part of the formulary.
For standard delivery (10 week days) it will cost you 7 euros to get a card and 3.5 euros if you are entitled to the under 23 version. For express delivery (1 week day) the prices rise to 12 and 6 euros, respectively.
To receive the card, you will have to return to the metro station where you made the request.
The metro stations that issue the initial card are Marquês de Pombal, Campo Grande, Colégio Militar/Luz, Jardim Zoológico, Rossio, Baixa-Chiado, Cais do Sodré, Oriente and Aeroporto. If you need the card urgently (you can pick it up 1 useful day after you order it) the metro stations that issue it are Marquês de Pombal, Jardim Zoológico, Alameda and Campo Grande.
You can make subsequent renewals of the pass in any other station or in an ATM. The passes are valid from the 1st day of the month until the last. It is also possible to make the renewal on the navegante app from the Google Play Store. However, sometimes a lot of tries are required for your phone camera to read the navegante card in the right manner.
